Jungle Animal Wildlife Sanctuary is the newest project of Ziggy's Haven Bird Sanctuary. Exotic animals do not make good pets and there are not enough facilities to provide proper care and adequate housing for such animals as tigers, monkeys, alligators, parrots and other exotic species. Retired performance animals are all too often euthanized for lack of placement options. None of these animals asked to be here. They did not want to be pets. They cannot be fully tamed nor domesticated. But they don't need to euthanized or sold to canned hunt facilities. They need a place they can be safe from a life of abuse and human entertainment.
The male tigers at our facility have all been neutered and can no longer reproduce. The female vervets are kept separate from the male. No animals in our care are bred at any time for any reason.
The tigers are kept in 20 x 20 enclosures with access to 10,000 sq. ft play yards for exercise and interaction. Each tiger eats approximately 25 pounds of meat per day.
The Vervet monkeys are kept in 10 x 18 enclosures with plenty of branches, swings and ropes. Each monkey eats approximately 5 pounds of fruits and vegetables every day.
The alligator yard is 20 x 30 with a large pond and basking area. Each alligator eats approximately 5-8 pounds of meat per day.
You can sponsor any of these animals and/or an enclosure. Please visit our sponsorship page for more information. Our sponsorship page has been updated to include enclosures and tigers as well as the parrots and parrot enclosures. For questions on sponsorships, please email info@ziggyshaven.com.
At this time, parrots are the only animal at our facility that we adopt to qualified homes. Please do not inquire on the adoption of primates and exotic felines. These animals are however available for sponsorship!
